TINEA FACIEI
Tinea Faciei (TF) is a fungal infection of the face. Tinea barbae refers to a fungal infection of the beard area of a man.
Clinical
An annular, red plaque or arc is typical. Pustules may be seen. KOH examination is positive.
Treatment
A topical antifungal medication is usually sufficient.
- Terbinafine 250 mg po x 10-14 days.
- Itraconazole 200 mg daily for one week or 100 mg daily for 2 weeks
