SEBACEOUS ADENOMA
The sebaceous adenoma (SA) is a benign neoplasm with sebaceous differentiation histologically. The presence of even one sebaceous adenoma should prompt the consideration of Muir Torre syndrome which is the association of sebaceous neoplasms with low grade visceral carcinomas and keratoacanthomas. Have the pathologist look for micro satellite instability.
Clinical
A nondescript, flesh to pink papule on the face or elsewhere is characteristic.
Treatment
No treatment is needed. Surgical excision or curettage and electrodessication may be done.
