LEUKOPLAKIA

Leukoplakia is characterized by thick, white or grayish plaques that form on the mucous membranes of the mouth, often on the tongue, gums, or cheeks, that cannot be easily scraped off. While most cases are benign, some can be precancerous lesions with a risk of progressing to oral cancer.
