The term cutis rhomboidalis nuchae (CRN) refers to the criss-crossed pattern of wrinkles that occurs on the nape as a result of years of sun exposure.
Clinical
Multiple creases in the skin forming a criss-cross pattern on the nape of the neck in an older individual, usually a man, is typical. The angled lines often form rhomboids, thus the name.
Treatment
No specific treatment is needed, although sun protection and a survey for skin cancer is in order.
