CUTIS MARMORATA
Cutis marmorata (CM) is a benign, physiologic condition in which a reticulated or mottled appearance of the skin is seen.
- Variations in the blood content of the skin produce this reticulated appearance.
- CM often occurs in response to being cold.
- CM is common in infants but may affect all ages.
- This benign condition should not be confused with cutis marmorata telangiectatica congenita. nor livedo racemosa
Clinical
A red, reticulated network is seen on the skin, particularly of the legs and distal extremities. The condition is usually variable and may completely disappear in a warm environment.
Treatment
No treatment is needed.
