A blackish discoloration of the skin under the ring.
BLACK DERMOGRAPHISM
In black dermographism, deposits of metal powder give the skin a gray or black color. The metal powder usually results from a hard metal in a topical product (e.g., titanium dioxide in a sunscreen) rubbing against a softer metal (e.g., gold in jewelry).
Clinical
The darker color usually develops under a piece of jewelry, e.g., ring or bracelet.
