ACQUIRED PERIUNGUAL (or UNGUAL) FIBROKERATOMA
The Acquired Periungual Fibrokeratoma (APFK) is a benign growth about the nail. The term comes from an analogy with acquired digital fibrokeratoma (ADFK) as it has been theorized that the APFK is just an ADFK but arising in the nail fold.
- No treatment is needed. Surgical excision may be done.
Clinical
A conical or rod-like projection emanates from the proximal nail fold. A longitudinal groove of the nail may form.
