ACNE EXCORIE
Acne excorie (AE) refers to acne that is constantly scratched by the patient.
- AKA acné excoriée des jeunes filles
- The patient with acne, usually female, seems unable to keep her hands off of the lesions
Even the smallest lesion is excoriated, leaving a red erosion or crust. Upon healing, red macules remain. The primary lesions of acne are often not seen. Sometimes it is unclear if the patient has acne at all.
