Cellulitis/Infection. Spreading redness, pus, and pain may indicate an infection.
Allergic Contact Dermatitis, here to adhesive. The use of topical antibiotics like Neosporin may induce an allergic contact dermatitis. Thus, Vaseline or Aquaphor are recommended.
A dry scab is not good for healing, despite what most patients think. Keeping the would covered and greasy is best.

Excessive tension, overactivity, and infection predispose to wound dehiscence.
