CANDIDAL ONYCHOMYCOSIS

By Gary M. White, MD

Onychomycosis caused by Candida

Treatment

Itraconazole should be considered the first-line treatment for candidal onychomycosis given its shorter treatment duration. Fluconazole can be used as an alternative. Terbinafine has a lower efficacy rate.

See onychomycosis for treatment regimens.
