A leiomyoma is a benign tumor derived from cutaneous smooth muscle. The solitary type presents as a tender intradermal nodule and is usually larger than the lesions of multiple, hereditary leiomyomatosis.
A solitary nodule, up to 2 cm. in diameter is seen. It is often painful.
No treatment is needed. Surgical excision may be done.
