Cryofibrinogenemia

A 60 year-old woman with a history of a purpuric rash presented with a blood pressure of 90/55, tachycardia with a pulse of 150/min and a temperature of 39.5°C. She had widespread necrosis of the skin and resultant ulceration with surrounding cellulitis Cryofibrinogenaemia was suspected and laboratory investigations confirmed the diagnosis.
