Beau's lines are transverse lines or grooves in multiple nails caused by some insult to the nail matrix, e.g., severe illness, chemotherapy. Severe cases can lead to onychomadesis (complete separation of the nail).
No treatment is needed or available. As long as the insult is gone, the nails will grow out normally.
Beau's lines induced by multiple cycles of chemotherapy.
