ACQUIRED PERIUNGUAL FIBROKERATOMA
The term acquired periungual fibrokeratoma (APFK) comes from the analogy with acquired digital fibrokeratoma (ADFK) as it has been theorized that the APFK is just an ADFK but arising in the nail fold.
A conical or rod-like projection emanates from the proximal nail fold. A longitudinal groove of the nail may form.
No treatment is needed. Surgical excision may be done.
