WEATHERING NODULES
Weathering Nodules (WN) are common, benign papules on the upper rim of the ear in older Caucasian men who have had much sun exposure.
- They are usually asymptomatic.
Multiple whitish papules occur on the upper outer helix. The consistency is that of cartilage. Both sides are often affected. Histologically, one sees cartilage metaplasia within a spur of fibrous tissue extending up from perichondrium of the auricular cartilage.
